DULUTH — 2019 Virginia High School graduate and St. Scholastica pitcher Jack Perala has earned all-conference honors in baseball for the second year in a row.
Perala was an all-conference honorable mention last year for the Saints in their final season in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. This season, CSS moved to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but Perala was just as impressive in his new conference, picking up the all-conference award.
Perala pitched in nine games for the Saints this season, throwing a total of 34.2 innings. He finished with a record of 3-1, an ERA of 3.89 and struck out 30. In MIAC play, Perala’s ERA fell to 2.17 (seventh in the league) and he struck out an average of 8.17 batters per game, 12th best in the conference.
The Saints finished the season with a record of 15-17 (10-10 in the MIAC).
