SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE ITASCA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL SESSION OCTOBER 26, 2021 Per Minnesota State Statute 375.12, the full text of the Official Proceedings is available for public inspection in the Itasca County Administrator’s Office of the Itasca County Courthouse in Grand Rapids, Minnesota; on the Itasca County website (http://www.co.itasca.mn.us/129/Agendas-Minutes); or by standard or electronic mail. The Itasca County Board of Commissioners met in Special Session on October 26, 2021, in the Boardroom of the Itasca County Courthouse, 123 NE 4th Street, Grand Rapids, MN. Chair Ives called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m., with all members present. AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) FUND UPDATE County Administrator Brett Skyles provided information regarding the American Rescue Plan (ARP), which will deliver $8,765,973 in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to Itasca County for use in response to the COVID-19 emergency through 2024. The Board has already approved the use of $2,840,515. The item was discussed for informational purposes only; no action taken. EXTERNAL AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) FUNDING REQUESTS Commissioners discussed external requests for use of ARP funds for informational purposes only; no action taken. NASHWAUK-KEEWATIN ISD 319 REQUEST Trunt/DeNucci approved the use of American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funds in the amount of $1,000,000 ($500,000 in 2022 and $500,000 in 2023) for the Nashwauk-Keewatin ISD 319 request contingent upon successful passage of their referendum on February 8, 2022. All aye. LOST REVENUE Accounting Manager Gail Guck provided information regarding the calculation of Lost Revenue in the amount of $816,456. SCHEDULE SPECIAL SESSION Trunt/DeNucci scheduled a Special Session Re: American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funding on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Itasca County Courthouse.
