CHISHOLM — Neely Lucas and Mike Swanson were united in marriage on June 27, 2015, at an outdoor ceremony held at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm.
The bride is the daughter of Ken and Darcy Lucas, and the groom is the son of Mike and Janet Swanson, all of Chisholm. Grandparents of the bride are Dorothy Rhodes and the late Edward Rhodes Jr., and June and Allen Lucas of Crosby. Grandparents of the groom are Mary Motley of Virginia and the late James Motley, and the late Leroy and La Vonne Swanson.
The bride was escorted to the gazebo by her father, Ken, and the groom was escorted by his mother, Janet. The officiant was John Hartwick.
Matron of honor was Tara Brooks, with Samantha Server and Jo Hanna Heder. Best man was Hunter Olson, with groomsmen Paul Leustek and Adam Johnson. Ushers were Ryan Lucas and Paul Ivanca.
Special guests were the bride’s godparents Randy and Mary Lossow of Brainerd, and Julie Garver and the late Ted Garver of Chisholm.
The wedding cake and cupcakes were made by the groom’s aunt, Merella Marsyla, and potica, a family tradition, was made by Linda Surla. Roger and Mitzi Rich of Hibbing were host and hostess. Photographers were Amber Peterson and Taylor Rautiola.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Discovery Center Museum. Guests came from Alaska, Arizona, California, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Iron Range.
